The Partnership

Noise is one of the leading smart-wearable and audio brands in India. Since 2014, the brand has expanded to various areas of the market with its premium product quality at an unbeatable price. Noise discovered a gap in the wearable market, that targets the audience below age 13. This provided Noise with the opportunity to design an Indian smartwatch that targets a younger audience, which brings a new layer to parenting, safety, and youth-development!

Problem Definition

How can we introduce a new, young generation of Indians to the idea of smartwatches? Making a customisable experience which nurtures child development, without compromising on safety and parental control.

Opportunities discovered

Designing Specifically for Young Ones

Given that Noise tapped into a largely underserved market for children’s wearables, we had to ideate on the overall experience from the perspective of a user who had little to no experience using this, or a similar device in the past.

Parental Engagement and Control

The watch’s parental control functions had to provide a balance between safety and independence for children, giving parents the ability to guide and monitor without stifling their child’s autonomy and technological independence.

Child-Focused Health & Fitness

The introduction of child-specific health tracking and fitness features promoted the development of healthy habits early. Through solid UX foundations, we could instil healthy habits in kids, without seeming preachy.

Emotional & Social Impact

By adding virtual companions and social features, the watch supports emotional well-being, reducing loneliness and opening doors for future child-focused developmental products. This is especially pertinent as the watch was launched during the COVID-19 pandemic.
